Hey, I’m Matt

I’m the photographer behind Rewind Photography.

I photograph weddings for people who care more about how their day felt than how perfectly it was posed.

Most of my couples tell me the same thing. They want photos that feel real. They want movement, laughter, weird little in-between moments, and the kind of images that bring them right back to how it felt, not just how it looked. That’s exactly what I do.

My approach is rooted in candid photography, with just enough direction to keep things flowing and flattering. I call it composed candid. I’ll guide you into good light, a great location, or a loose starting point, then let you be yourselves. No stiff posing. Just space to play, connect, and forget the camera exists.

I’m based in Santa Barbara and photograph everything from full wedding days to courthouse elopements and micro weddings.

Outside of photography, I’m a dad, a music lover, and someone who values community a lot. I care deeply about creating spaces where people feel comfortable being themselves, and that shows up in how I photograph weddings. When you feel safe and seen, the photos just work.
